The 2015 National Summer Program offered by Instituto Fe y Vida –Institute for Faith and Life, from June 28 to July 4, at the Lewis University campus in Romeoville, IL, was a wonderful experience for both the participants and the pastoral team facilitating it. This was the largest summer program since its inception two decades ago. More than 200 participants, including young Catholic Hispanic leaders representing 40 dioceses in the United States; and dioceses in Colombia, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and Mexico, came together with Fe y Vida’s Pastoral Team in an environment of peace and grace.

Logo-FeyVida Small-2004Fe y Vida offered four formation opportunities this summer: 1) Symposium on Leadership for a Comprehensive Pastoral Juvenil –Youth and Young Adult Ministry: Sharing a Vision of Hope; 2) a Biblical Animation of Pastoral Juvenil: Evangelizing Young People with the Word of God; 3) a Bilingual Spirituality program: Life Project and Self-improvement for those in ministry with young Latinos born and/or educated in the U.S.; and 4) a Training for Ecclesial Ministers and Young Adult Leaders with Advance Formation: Expanding Horizons for Hispanic Ministry, Catechesis, and Pastoral Juvenil.

The success of this 21st summer program stems from the far reaching evangelization mission of Fe y Vida as it turned another year of service, educating, training, and evangelizing young Hispanics in the United States and across the Americas.

2015 National Summer Program participants and Fe y Vida pastoral team gathered together in front of Sancta Alberta Chapel.

Through its alumni, programs and publications, the institute is contributing to the ministry of the Catholic Church among young Latinos in nearly every diocese in the United States.
