At the meeting of the Subcommittee of Bishops for Hispanic Affairs in June there was a unanimous agreement that the V Encuentro is the way in which Hispanic/Latino ministry will be more explicitly incorporated to the Continental Mission promoted by the bishops of Latin America and the Caribbean. All the bishops of the United States had the opportunity to discuss the V Encuentro and the ways in which it could foster a more missionary and evangelizing ministry among their Hispanic/Latino faithful. Vocational promotion, youth and family ministry, Catholic education and a comprehensive immigration reform were some of the issues that came up in the conversations of bishops in their episcopal regions.
