We are happy to introduce “Tech Tuesday.” Every week on Tuesday we will feature software, apps, and various ways to incorporate technology tools for your ministry.
This week we highlight Prezi, a presentation tool that allows you to pan and zoom and imbed photos and Youtube video. Most children and youth watch PowerPoint presentations in school all day, and many of them are pretty bored by the static page. Prezi is a great alternative that can keep them engaged. I have used it for various presentations with Director’s of Religious Education who always want to know about the product. I have also used it in both English and Spanish and each time everyone is very impressed by the presentation.
One of my favorite features is the ability to use it with my ipad. They offer a free Prezi app which you can download onto your ipad. Then you just login and download your presentations. Just make sure to always download your current presentation if you make any changes on your computer. Using the app makes it very easy as I can just place my ipad in my purse and I don’t have to carry my laptop around.
Another cool feature is the ability to import PowerPoint slides, photos and imbed YoutTube video. You can present off or online. In order to view the YouTube videos, you will need to be connected to the internet.
